We’ve seen some great women leaders in the pandemic of 2020. Jacinda Ardern, Tsai Ing-Wen, Erna Solberg, Angela Merkel. It’s got me thinking more about matriarchy as a political choice. If politicians treated their citizens as their children, what would happen? Which child would you choose to leave hungry? Without house or home? Would you let your grandparent die alone, because it’s too hard to look after them?
Look at the leadership qualities of Marcus Rashford and Boris Johnson. What impact have they made on society? Which of the two is a self made man? Which one posts pictures of his mum, holding his BBC Sports Personality of the Year award on social media? Which one witnessed his mother’s suffering and pain from the philandering father he admired?
